Is the Talcott Center for Child Development only for special needs children?

No – The Talcott Center for Child Development offers programs for children of all abilities.  While we do offer intensive individual and group programs for children with special needs, we also offer programs for children who do not have specific areas of concern. 

Is there a specific age group that you provide service to?

The Talcott Center for Child Development offers group and individual programs for children ages 9 months to 18 years.  Speech and occupational therapy services are available for children birth to 21 years.

Are parents required to participate in group programs?

Our Mom’s, Pop’s, and Tot’s program requires parent involvement for our littlest ones (9m – 2.6y).  However, we do offer art, movement, and music groups for children ages 2 and up that do not require parent participation.

Does insurance cover any of the groups?

Yes – Some insurance plans do cover group services if your child does have special needs and does require speech or occupational therapy services.  Please contact your insurance provider for further details.  We can also help, just give us a call!

What is your cancellation policy?

Sessions canceled with less than 24-hour notice are subject to a cancellation fee of $50 for weekdays and $65 for weekends, but will be credited if the session is made up within 30 days.  If sessions are canceled with more than 24 hours notice, no cancellation fee will be charged; however, this clinic encourages scheduling a make-up for these and all other sessions in order to ensure optimal progress.  If no cancellation notification is given and a scheduled appointment is missed, you will be charged the full fee for the session, and the session cannot be made up.
